It is just but natural that when somebody do an evil deed to us that we will retaliate or strike back. "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, so they say". We still believe on this old notion which many of us have been doing. That was the practice on the Old Testament. When Jesus came, He encourages us to love our enemies and to pray for them. He teaches us to overcome evil with goodness. He admonishes us to overlook an offense and let him be the one to chastise. Remember He said that vengeance is mine. When an evil act was done to a good person and he strikes back, he too will be a wicked person; whereas when he ignores that he will remain good. The wicked person will be taken aback and will feel guilty in the long run for doing something bad to someone who doesn't mean any harm. Teaching by good examples is more effective than any other method. It strikes directly on the inner conscience and will convict the person. That guilty feeling will surely continuously nag him to make amends. In the end, the bad will become good. Please try this, it works.
